Kailoa SuganumaGeneral NotesThursday Jan 5, 1956: "Hawaiian songs for children, written by Mary Kawena Pu-kui, will be featured on the Playground Quarter Hour on the KGU at 12:45 pm. Saturday, Mrs. Pukui is pictured with her grandsons, Laakea Suganuma, left, and Kailoa Suganuma for whom she wrote most of her songs. The Playground Directors Glee Club will sing the songs, three of which were winners in past Hawaiian song writing contests sponsored by the board of public parks and recreation. The 1956 contest which is now on is only for Hawaiian songs for children."
